New Store Vacancies

Submitted by: Rogers - Date: 1 Sep 10 - Category: Recruitment information

Can you tell me why there is not a new store facility for you to click on. I have been trying to find vacancies for your new store Gallagher Park in Wednesbury which is due to open. I have also tried to apply for vacancies in other area's which I have managed to get on the website but it then informs me that the vacancies have been filled, yet they have only been posted on there that day?

Application process

Submitted by: Image - Date: 3 Aug 10 - Category: Application process

I have been visiting job centre plus on a regular basis and I have been coming across sales assistant jobs every time but I have never had the chance to apply for one because each time I get online, it's always been sorry, your job search does not match any vacancy at the moment and it's not as if I left it till the next day. I make sure I apply the same day. What is it that I have not done right and also is there no opportunity for someone without previous experience ( a foreign student)?

Boots Dot Com Catalogue

Submitted by: fazil - Date: 22 Jul 10 - Category: Technical issues

My idea is about shopping at Boots dot com. Being a sales man at Boots (Fulham Broadway) I have observed that averagely we receive up to 10 boots dot com parcels in store weekly, it indicates that our local customers don’t know much about our Boots dot com and even most of the Boots own employees doesn’t know about the Boots dot com’s sales and stuff. Most of the time we suggest that a particular item could be in a larger boots. It is a good idea but not an ideal, taking a little time we can find and order that item from a till and could be available within 24 hours in local Boots. Starting catalogues in our local Boots will not only help the local customers to know about our Boots dot com but will also help the Boots own employees to know about our all stuff we sell through our website. We just need a stand for the catalogue and Boots like Fulham Broadway can accommodate up to 40 Catalogue Stands for customer to view and choose the items from our catalogues (10 to 15 paper catalogues would be sufficient for any Boots whether small or large. Or up to 5 electronic catalogues without making any changes and movements in the store). These catalogues will not only provide information about the stuff but will also provide information about our all offers, price comparisons and price cuts. If this catalogue could be Electronic one like a checkout in Argos than it will be more convenient to browse and order the product on the spot. Most of the people don’t know what we sell apart from medicines, Most of the time my friends and other people ask me for advice about their medications, diseases and sickness and not about our other stuff we sell, similarly most of the time people don’t know that where and who sell a particular item or product, our catalogue system will help our customer to know about our all products and services. Our Boots dot com is doing good but not sufficient, our catalogue system will not only increase the awareness about our products and services in store and online but will also buttress our wallet.

There is no need to do advertisement on the radio television, internet or newspapers; Boots own machinery (3,250 stores, 115,000 employees and advantage card holders) is sufficient to advertise and attract present and new customers.

Thanks

Fazil

Find a new application process

Submitted by: alibob - Date: 16 Jul 10 - Category: Technical issues

I tried applying for a local position, found the job fine and it said my computer was compatible with the application process. It opened up the questionaire but the only thing I could click on was abort, I had no next or help button visible anywhere. I then clicked out of it as I couldn't do anything and now I cannot try again as I have "withdrawn" from the process! I can't do anything or find any other way to contact apart from through this. I am very annoyed that I cannot even apply for a job which would suit me very well because of a technical issue which I shouldn't have had as my computer was apparently compatible!

Online Applications

Submitted by: Youngone - Date: 11 Jul 10 - Category: Technical issues

I am 16 and trying to apply for a job. It told me there was some technical error on the Questionnaire section. Said I should try again later. I did it still did not work, but I re logged back in and it told me I had finished the questionnaire, hope my answers were good as I did not answer any of the questions. I withdrew my application but cannot re apply as it says the positions has been filled. A little disapppointed as I am new to this and finding it very difficult to find a part time job to keep me going whilst in 6th Form.

Job Vacancies

Submitted by: Steve - Date: 5 Jul 10 - Category: Technical issues

I have been trying for 3 days to access the website to apply for a vacancy advertised on the jobcentre website with no success. I can only assume that the vacancy number is incorrect as the site does not recognise the number given.
The vacancy advertised is for; Care Homes Delivery Driver ref Boots 35161 on the Gainsborough Jobcentre website, Job number GAI/20853. Any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards.

Reading your CSR stuff gives me a good sense of how you treat the environment, so I can understand how you might treat me as a member of the team. I would be happy to see some more on this subject and perhaps some vid content and stories?

In-Store recruitment

Submitted by: Satinder - Date: 23 Jun 10 - Category: Recruitment process

Do you have recruitment champions in-store? You definitely consider your experiences as a customer, before applying for a role. If the people you meet are happy and helpful, then surely that suggests that they satisfied in their work? The assistants I have met in-store have always been keen to help and quite pacey - you get the sense that it is probably a fast-moving place to work.

Tell us more about your business ambitions

Really like the sections where senior managers talk about why candidates should join. Would also be nice to hear more about where they see their business area going.

Text messaging to candidates

Submitted by: Ali - Date: 23 Jun 10 - Category: Application process

Haven't applied yet for a role with Boots. Have made an application recently to another big organisation and they texted a 'good luck' message before interview and a reminder of the date and time - nice touch! I'll comment more on the app process for Boots when I have applied.

Lots of logic

Submitted by: Ali - Date: 23 Jun 10 - Category: Technical issues

This is more a comment, than a description of an idea. I think the site follows a simple but effective logic, so my comment is - keep testing with your users as you keep updating your site.

More video!

Submitted by: Ali - Date: 23 Jun 10 - Category: Recruitment information

I love the videos on the site! Especially on the homepage. What a great way to bring your brand to life. It would also be quite useful to see a video Q&A with, say, one of the hiring managers, to understand what they look for in an employee?

Candidate Referral schemes

Submitted by: Ali - Date: 23 Jun 10 - Category: Recruitment process

Hi there
I spotted a marketing role on Totaljobs. For anyone with a background in marketing, Boots is a great brand to have on your CV. Do you have a scheme where you incentivise your own team to recommend people they have worked with before / know of through their network? I would imagine they are proud ambassadors of the Boots brand. And surely this must be a cost-effective way of managing recruitment? Not that I am an expert! :-)
Ali.
